Jointly organised by the Global Health European & Developing Countries Clinical Trial Partnership 3 (Global Health EDCTP3) and the EDCTP Association, and hosted by the Ministry of Health of Rwanda and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), this year’s Forum brings together participants from 76 countries, including researchers, policymakers, funders and global health stakeholders from across Africa and Europe.

Under the theme 'Better health through global research partnerships', the Twelfth EDCTP Forum includes:
- A pre-event organised by the RBC and focused on the role of National Public Health and partner research institutes in leading the health system transformation through research
- Over 60 impactful sessions on cross-cutting global health challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, equitable research partnerships, African research leadership, artificial intelligence and digitalisation, climate and health, and much more.
- Nearly 200 oral and poster presentations on the latest advances in clinical research and implementation.
- Plentiful networking opportunities, such as the ‘Meet the Experts’ sessions and mentoring meetings.
- Five EDCTP Prize ceremonies.

Many of the research projects and researchers present at the EDCTP Forum are funded by the EDCTP programmes. Global Health EDCTP3 supports collaborative clinical research on medical interventions to prevent, detect, treat and track infectious diseases prevalent in Africa. It also supports the strengthening of research capacities in sub-Saharan African countries to conduct high-quality clinical studies and to prepare for and respond to (re-)emerging infectious diseases. Launched in 2021, Global Health EDCTP3 is currently funding 93 research and innovation projects, involving 374 entities from 62 countries. The total invested in these projects amounts to €357 million.
