What type of contributions are possible?

A Contributing Partner (CP) may contribute at two levels: at the call level and at the project level.

There are two types of contributions: Financial Contributions (i.e., cash) and In-Kind Contributions to Operational Activities (IKOP).

What type of contributions are possible for contributing partners

Level of contribution

At the call level

The CP may co-create the call for proposal text with Global Health EDCTP3.

This requires a committed effort from the CP.

At the project level

The CP supports any project(s) of their interest. When the CP is involved in tasks of the project and intends to provide IKOP, this requires joining a project consortium.

Type of contribution

Financial Contributions (FCs)

Cash contribution made to cover the eligible costs of entities implementing Global Health EDCTP3-funded projects.

Two ways of providing cash contributions are:

Financial contribution provided directly to Global Health EDCTP3

The CP and Global Health EDCTP3 sign a funding agreement, and the CP transfers cash, in EUR, directly to Global Health EDCTP3.

Global Health EDCTP3 uses this funding to support one or more beneficiaries through grant agreements. The CP is not involved in the projects funded as a beneficiary.

Financial contribution provided directly to beneficiaries

The CP signs a funding agreement with Global Health EDCTP3, but the CP transfers cash, in EUR, directly to beneficiaries who are party to a grant agreement with Global Health EDCTP3.

In-Kind contributions to Operational Activities (IKOP)

IKOP refers to the eligible costs incurred by the CP in implementing projects, less the contribution of Global Health EDCTP3 to those costs. In essence, IKOP represents the unfunded part of the eligible costs incurred by the CP.

IKOP contributions allow a Contributing Partner to support projects with non-cash resources or services, such as purchasing equipment, consumables or providing staff.

CPs providing IKOP participate in project consortia and sign the Global Health EDCTP3 Grant Agreement.

There are two options:

Join a project consortium at any moment

A CP can apply to any call for proposals and, based on a successful evaluation, become part of a consortium signing a grant agreement with Global Health EDCTP3. The non-funded portion of their eligible costs counts as IKOP.

Be a required member of the consortium

The CP is identified in the call topic text as either partially funded or non-funded mandatory beneficiaries of the project(s).

The CP is required to be part of the consortium and signs a grant agreement with Global Health EDCTP3.
