Our governance

The Global Health EDCTP3 is co-governed by two equal partners:

Both partners hold equal voting rights and share responsibility for the strategic direction and implementation of the programme. The Governing Board is advised by a Scientific Committee and a Stakeholders Group.

Governing Board

The Governing Board is the decision-making body of Global Health EDCTP3. It is composed of six representatives from each member of the Joint Undertaking.

The Board has overall responsibility for the strategic orientation, coherence with relevant Union objectives and policies, and supervises the implementation of its activities. It is responsible for adopting the work programme and budget, approving calls for proposals, overseeing implementation, and ensuring the programme delivers on its objectives.

Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee advises on research priorities, calls for proposals, and scientific strategy to ensure excellence and impact. 

It includes independent experts from both African and European countries.

Stakeholders’ Group

The Stakeholders’ Group advises on the programme’s scientific, strategic and technological priorities, helps identify synergies, and contributes to the EDCTP Forum.

It brings together representatives from diverse sectors and regions, with balanced geographic, thematic, and gender representation, including African participation.
