Dr Henning Gädeke heads the “Medical Research and Global Health” division at the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
From 2017 to 2021, he served as research attaché at the Permanent Representation of Germany to the EU in Brussels where his responsibilities included the negotiations of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe, the EIT package and the European Partnership package. He chaired the Council’s Research Working Party and the Joint Working Party on Research/Atomic Questions during Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2020.
He was the Chair of the EDCTP Association Board and Chair of the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking Governing Board from 2022 to 2026.
Dr Gädeke holds a PhD in law and worked as a lawyer before joining the Ministry.
