
2024 has been a year of growth and increasing regional and global recognition of the value of our partnership, building on over 20 years of impactful outcomes in addressing infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa.

Global Health EDCTP3 2024 highlights include:
- A growth of the partnership’s budget from €1.6B to €1.86B thanks to additional contributions from the European Union and the EDCTP Association.
- Eswatini and Namibia joining the EDCTP Association, being able to engage in and receive funding from Global Health EDCTP3.
- The rapid response to the mpox outbreak through the launch of an emergency call for proposals, through which nine research and innovation projects were funded.
- The launch of 46 new projects bringing the total number of funded projects to 74, involving 305 entities from 56 countries.
- BioNTech joining as a Contributing Partner.
