Call for expressions of interest: join the Stakeholders’ Group

The Global Health EDCTP3 has launched a new call for expressions of interest to renew the membership of its Stakeholders’ Group.

Call for Global Health EDCTP3 Stakeholders' Group members

Following the completion of the two-year mandate of the first established group, Global Health EDCTP3 is inviting both ongoing and new members to express their interest in joining the Stakeholders’ Group.

This group plays a key advisory role in the governance of the organisation, complementing the Scientific Committee and supporting the Governing Board. Over the last two years, it has notably contributed to shaping the current programme by updating the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), supporting the organisation and design of the Eleventh and Twelfth EDCTP Forums, and providing valuable strategic and policy recommendations.

Who can apply

The Stakeholders’ Group is open to all public and private stakeholder organisations, including organised groups and international interest groups that are active in the field of global health and aligned with the mission of Global Health EDCTP3.

The group aims for balanced representation across geography, thematic focus, and gender, with a particular emphasis on expertise from sub-Saharan Africa.

The call is aimed at organisations, not individuals. Selected organisations will be invited to appoint a representative and an alternate.

Selection criteria

Candidate organisations must have expertise, activity, or representation of interests in at least one of the following areas:

  • Patient organisations;
  • Civil society in global health, in particular as regards infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Professional international and regional organisations active in the areas of global health, especially infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa, in alignment with the scope of the SRIA;
  • Local or regional government representatives providing health services in sub-Saharan Africa and addressing infectious diseases;
  • Social entrepreneurs and product development partnerships developing solutions for issues in global health, especially infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Businesses/industry/SMEs working in the area of global health, especially infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Research institutions addressing infectious diseases affecting sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Other funders of global health research with a focus on low- and middle-income countries.

Additionally, essential criteria for the organisations’ representatives and alternates are:

  • At least ten years of professional experience in the field as defined in the SRIA.
  • Very good command of written and spoken English.
  • Proven experience of participation in advisory bodies.

Length of the term

Members will be appointed by the Governing Board of the Global Health EDCTP3 for a two-year term. The Governing Board may decide to renew the appointment for an additional two-year period upon recommendation by the Executive Director.
