
Global Health EDCTP3 has announced a significant increase in its Work Programme 2025 budget to reflect new contributions from contributing partners and the EDCTP Association. The augmented budget aims at supporting global health research and epidemic preparedness.
Increased budgets expand scope and scale of four key calls
As a result of these new contributions, the budget for four call topics has increased as follows:
‣ HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2025-02-FELLOW-01-two-stage: Global Health EDCTP3 and contributing partners funded strategic training hubs for fellowships in public health covering biostatistics, epidemiology and modelling – The budget increases from €6.7 million to €15 million. The number of projects expected to be funded rises from 5 to 11, with an expected JU contribution per project of €1.36 million.
‣ HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2025-03-NETWORKS-01-two-stage: Global collaboration action for strengthening the regional networks of excellence and epidemic preparedness consortia – The budget increases from €40 million to €53 million. The expected JU contribution per project increases from €10 million to €13.25 million.
‣ HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2025-04-CH-01-two-stage: Global collaborative action tackling diarrhoeal diseases in the context of climate and health – The budget increases from €30.6 million to €32 million, with an expected JU contribution per project rising from €5.1 million to €5.3 million.
‣ HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2025-04-ACCESS-02-two-stage: Transformative innovations in global health – The budget increases from €14 million to €17.1 million. The number of projects expected to be funded will rise from 6-10 to 8-12, with an expected JU contribution per project between €1.4 million and €2.1 million.

Apply now: first-stage proposals due by 20 March 2025
Interested consortia are invited to submit a short proposal to the calls for proposals by 20 March 2025 (first stage). Successful consortia will then be invited to submit a full proposal by September 2025 (second stage).
