Global Health EDCTP3 has received 243 applications by the 2 September deadline for the 2026 single-stage call. Applicants have requested nearly €491.7 million in Global Health EDCTP3 funding. The indicative available budget at call closure is €36.6 million.
Global Health EDCTP3 has received a record number of 243 applications for two coordination and support action (CSA) call topics aimed at supporting training and capacity-building activities in the areas of ethics, regulatory and pharmacovigilance, and enhancing integrated research and healthcare through digital innovation and artificial intelligence.
The submitted applications involve 1,025 entities from 80 countries. 61% of partners are based in Africa and 37% in Europe.
The project proposals are distributed as follows:
- Training and innovation networks for sustained capacity building related to ethics, regulatory and pharmacovigilance, and related digital regulatory platforms: 182 project proposals were submitted, requesting €397.5 million, and competing for an €18.6 million available budget.
- Enhancing integrated research and healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa through digital innovation and artificial intelligence: 61 project proposals were submitted, requesting €94.2 million, and competing for an €18 million available budget.
Next steps
The evaluation of the submitted applications by independent experts is now ongoing. The outcomes of the evaluation and invitations to start grant agreement preparations for successful applications are expected to be communicated by the end of December 2026.
